This beautiful campsite sits along the banks of Lake Whitney. It’s set between Fort Worth and Waco, just a short drive from either. The cliff side campsites over look the sprawling lake with access to water and both a fire pit and bbq pit. Bathrooms and showers are a short hike away along with pavilions and picnic areas, with a wide variety of camping options like tent, rv and even group sites. Perfect for the hottest summer months Lake Whitney provides a constant natural air conditioning with the warm summer breeze cooled by the evaporating lake water and splashed upon the shore. Along with swimming areas and great fishing, boating and kayaking is a favorite on the lake. I rate it as my very favorite because of that lakeside breeze and the view from the tent sites on the cliffs. The view is absolutely spectacular and it’s comfortable throughout the hottest summer months.
